If you are connecting to a DBF file, the filename of the DBF needs to be 8 characters or less depending on the driver you are using. I was using the Jet 4.0 and just ran into this issue and renaming the DBF from 12 to 7 characters (not including extension) worked fine.

2014年8月11日 · A .dbf file is a mixed binary and encoded text file format. By encoded I don't mean encryption, I mean coded into a codepage depending on the language used for the .dbf file (such as cp1252 (Windows English) or cp1251 (Cyrillic).

That however cause an "unexpected exception from an external driver". So my question is - what the heck? I'm sure the file is not corrupt, it is a direct export from some DB. 2013年2月25日 · Reconvert the delimited text file into a MySql data file with the necessary command in MySql. I do not know the actual command for it. All DBMS will have commands to do that work. For eliminiating the duplicates you will have to do it at the time of populating the data to the .dbf file through a programme written in dBase.

My program will not need to read it in again, but other programs will. I've looked around for a solution to this, but all seem to assume an existing DBF file, whereas I want to make a new one.
