I'm just getting into Dark Sun, currently researching the setting and thinking about running it. This is an awesome resource! I question the removal of all stats though. You say you want to make it system neutral, but you're actually making it harder to convert to other systems (speaking as someone who plays B/X).

2021年4月30日 · In Dark Sun, halflings are bloodthirsty cannibals, Elves are basically gypsie nomads, and slavery and starvation run rampant. I see all of this being white-washed and diluted to the point of being meaningless as WoTC attempts to carefully avoid triggering outrage and social media panic. I want a REAL Dark Sun rebirth - ugliness and savagery intact.

Converting old adventures isn't as scary as it seems, though Dark Sun AD&D adventures were designed for characters that (1) didn't have infinite cantrips and (2) didn't scale so much as they went up in levels. And, many writers of the time enjoyed "railroads" such as fights you cannot win. So, they often need some fixing.

Simple, effective, very good integration of the lore into the mechanic. I've come across several DS adaption to 5e, but none as comprehensive and exhaustive than what the people at atahs.org manage to ...

2023年5月23日 · Dark Sun isn't problematic, WotC is just determined to make D&D as family friendly as possible, and the harsh world of Athas is not family friendly in the least. Cannibalism, genocide, dictatorship, ecological collapse, slavery, there is a lot of stuff in Dark Sun that would not mesh with WotC's current marketing schemes. Which is fine with me.
