2019年12月5日 · The Padstack is using a Flash Symbol named Direct on inner layers (files direct.dra and direct.fsm need to be in the library path for this to work) The Thermal Pad and Anti-Pad are relevant if the cross-section uses Negative Artwork.

Chances are that you copied some of the provided symbols and associated padstacks to your own directory and removed the default paths from the PAD / PSM PATHs The provided symbols use the AB00 DRA / FSM definition from the default directory, either move the AB00 files to your directory, or edit the padstacks to remove the references to AB00 ...

In version 16.xx, if a Positive plane is selected, then the flash symbols are not used and you get the + across the pad so it just seems that the tools should have the padstacks defaulted with the Thermal Relief setup for Flash. Any help shedding light on this subject is greatly appreciated. KC

I am facing problem with the Flash Symbols since a long time when I make my artwork as a negative one. In general practice I dont give the flash symbols for the thru holes I create. So when I make a plane as negative artwork, all the vias which doesn't have flash symbols specified in their padstack are getting shorted to planes.

2024年2月14日 · We have investigated the issue and found out new style flash symbols was disabled in the design. To update the Geometry to Flash Symbol perform the following steps-> 1.Type Skill in Command Window. 2. Type (axlDBControl 'newFlashMode t) in command and hit enter. 3. Now, change the Gemoetry to Flash. With this Method it worked fine.

The undefined aperture is a flash symbol which I have in my symbols directory (.fsm) If I try to update shapes and flash symbols from within the place menu of Allegro Pcb editor, I do not see the .fsm file I need to try and refresh.

In my aperture list I see the flash symbol that the tool says is undefined. If I try to refresh my shapes and flash symbols to see if this corrects the problem the flash symbol name is not listed even though it shows up in the actual aperture list. How can I get the flash symbol listed under shapes and flash symbols under the place menu?

What i meant is that there is a skill program (run in design) can create shape symbols and flash symbols ,but I can only use them in current design . More ,What I wanted is that how to save flash symbols and shape symbols to disk.

The symbol is circa v16.3, so is not the "old style flash design" indicated. The results of the padstack refresh are indeed as indicated. In the design padstack, the thermals are shown with the flash symbol name, but the geometry has indeed been changed from "flash" to "rectangle".

• The symbol file: Symbol files result from saving a drawing file and specifying one of the symbol types such as Shape (with .ssm extension) or Flash (with a .fsm extension). To convert the drawing into a symbol, run "create symbol" from an open drawing in the Symbol subset.
