Hoenir (Old Norse Hœnir, pronounced “HIGH-nir”) is an obscure Aesir god. Mentions of Hoenir in Old Norse literature are highly confused and contradictory. The Völuspá, one of the poems in the Poetic Edda, has Hoenir playing a role in the creation of the first humans, Ask and Embla.
