Sep 29, 2023 · The 23" PAX is fairly deep and it makes getting items from the back quite difficult. With that in mind, I'd definitely put either a drawer/basket or one of those pull out shelves on the very bottom. And maybe change the two top shelves for pull out shelves too for easier access (they are a bit narrower obviously).

Jun 17, 2022 · I’ve seen a ton of hacks of cutting down the height of an IKEA pax unit, however no one seems to be discussing cutting down the depth. It is much easier to get the 22” depth unit right now whereas the 13” units have been sold out forever. I got some 22” deep units and tested out cutting the depth down to match the 13” unit.

Dec 19, 2022 · The easiest hacks for pax are changing the backing or getting custom doors, as mentioned above do not put your unit on alternative legs, you can place the whole unit on laying 2x4s (whatever size you need) one on the front, one on the back of all the units and then add a masking front panel.

May 23, 2021 · Important to know the center of the Ikea pax is hollow. Only air and corrugated carboard. If you cutoff too much, you will have nothing there solid. I have units I cut in depth. The older units were solid particleboard but the newer ones are hollow. There's just a center strip that is particleboard where the pegs go in to hold up the shelves.

So for PAX, the world is its ‘assembly line’. That design almost speaks its own language and has its own culture - I think it is a direct result of IKEA’s influence on the global furniture market [every1 is always poorly copying certain important IKEA …

Jan 25, 2024 · The idea is to get two PAX wardrobes combined with BESTA (above the bed and below the window). Does the colour of PAX white stained oak match with BESTA white stained oak? Also, we struggle to find matching doors. Are the high gloss white FARDAL (PAX door) and the high gloss white SELSWIKEN (BESTA door) the same color? (second picture)

Oct 23, 2023 · Where you flip the larger Pax against the wall and maybe have long hangies in the corner section and then the little cubby part for storage, and then the smaller Pax with hanging completely open. (Hopefully that makes sense).

Feb 10, 2022 · We’ve done exactly the same with pax, I recognised that floor frame - great minds ;) I topped the frame with some osb instead of sitting the carcasses straight on top. Not sure I need bothered. I haven’t filled the gaps yet, I need to scribe and make some tricky cuts as the wall isn’t remotely straight or level.
