Founded in 1996 as LG Telecom, LG U+ is the third network operator in South Korea, after SK Telecom and KT Corporation; it is also the smallest by subscribers. Following a merger with subsidiaries LG Dacom (a fixed-line and Internet service provider) and LG Powercom (another ISP), LG Telecom was renamed to LG U+ on 1 July 2010.
