Erin Oliver is a member of the Bundy Clan and an at-large member of the tribal coucil. She is also a governor appointed member of the Indiana Native American Indian Affairs Commission and a board member of the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indian a Western Art.

The Honoring Our Ancestors Project is a program being created by the Miami Nation of Indians of Indiana for the purpose of stabilizing, revitalizing, and renovating cemeteries that contain the remains of our Miami ancestors.

Our tribe is flourishing with a tribal enrollment of 6000 individuals with concentrations of members in Miami, Huntington, Allen, Wabash, Marion, and Parke counties in Indiana.

Today, the Tribe owns land on the south bank of the Mississinewa River, directly across from the 7 Pillars, where we conduct our sacred Long House ceremonies as well as host our annual Miami Heritage Days at the Pillars.

That is the day that about half of the Miami Nation was forced onto canal boats and removed at first to Kansas and eventually to Oklahoma, tearing the one Tribe into two separate tribes of Miami (present day Miami of Oklahoma and the Miami Nation of Indiana).

Miami Heritage Days At The Pillars was an idea from Tribal Councilman Vince Knauff and began in 2014.The Mission of this event is to be a learning and educational weekend at the 7 Pillars for the public to be made aware of the Tribe’s history, ongoing mission, experience our culture first hand, and fellowship with the Miami People.
