Look at every current penn state wrestler, they’re all multi-time state champions, from REPUTABLE states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New Jersey, who’ve also won or placed high at large country-wide tournaments like Fargo, while having near-perfect GPA. So short answer, 1 state title isn’t gonna get you into penn state.

Ohio state is second in 2025 and 2026. I don't see a chance for Ohio State in 2026. The 'young guns" are good - no doubt. Ohio State could have three champs in 2026. But look at Penn State's young guns - Haines - 1st (soph), Messembrink 2nd (Freshman), Kasak 3rd (Freshman), Van Ness 3rd in 2023 (soph eligibility).

Apr 10, 2024 · I feel like you’re dismissing how stacked the wrestling rooms are for schools like Michigan, Iowa, Arizona State etc. they all have guys trying to make world teams to learn from and challenge themselves with. Penn state is the best by a lot but no high schooler could walk into Michigan’s room and not feel challenged
