Takedown Guide Service is a guide service for salmon, sturgeon, and bass fishing in the Northwest. We fish the Lower Columbia River (Drano Lake) and the Upper Columbia River (Hanford Reach) in Washington for salmon. We also fish the Snake River near the Treasure Valley, specifically Swan Falls for sturgeon and bass.

Upper Columbia Fall King Salmon: Fall king salmon fishing runs from September to mid/late October. The area is known as the Vernita/Hanford Reach area, which is the largest stretch of the Columbia River for spawning. This makes fishing fantastic, allowing you to catch some of the largest fish in the Upper Columbia River.

One day our fishing guide may be targeting spring chinook salmon on the mainstem of the Columbia River, the next he may be on the Wind River or Drano Lake. By having the ability to be mobile, we can take advantage of where the salmon are at any given time, thus increasing the chances of you taking home some of the best eating fish there is.

Chinook and Coho Salmon begin to stage in the coastal waters off of the mouth of the Columbia from late June through August and this is hands down some of the best salmon fishing to be had anywhere! Ocean caught King Salmon! Summer Chinook average 12 to 30+ pounds and the summer Coho range anywhere from 5 pounds to 15+ pounds.

Salmon fishing on the Columbia is particularly good, with opportunities to reel in Spring Chinook, Summer June Hogs, and Fall Chinook. Our salmon fishing guide, Buddy Dupell, has over 20 years of experience guiding on the Columbia and will take you where the fishing are biting.

After Fall Chinook and Coho Salmon slow down on the Columbia it’s time to hit the tributaries. We will target Coho and King Salmon in the smaller rivers until nearly Christmas before switching gears to Winter Steelhead.
