2017年3月12日 · The armor Sauron wears in the films is based on Tolkien illustrator John Howe's illustrations (for The Silmarillion) of Morgoth, not Sauron. From the LotR wiki : As seen in Peter Jackson's film trilogy, Sauron appears as a massive figure in black armor, measuring over nine feet tall and wielding a horned mace.

Sauron appears to be wearing the same armour throughout. There's times when he takes on a "pleasing aspect" (basically looking like a tall elf) but that's not seen in the films, other than in various deleted scenes

2020年7月7日 · It seems to indicate that Sauron has some shapeshifting abilities. His race is identified as Ainur, which is a race of immortal spirits. Sauron takes different appearances at different times throughout the ages. To Celebrimbor (the ring maker), Sauron takes the appearance and identity of Annatar (an Elf of similar heritage to Celebrimbor).

2015年5月31日 · As far as I can recall, no one ever wears plate armor in The Lord of the Rings - only leather and chain mail. But most depictions of Sauron and Morgoth show them wearing heavy black plate armor - even imagery produced by the illustrators most commonly associated with Tolkien, like John Howe.

2022年3月12日 · "In the Jackson Lord of the Rings movies, Sauron has an (unnamed) sword" sounds a bit misleading: Sauron would have had a sword if the director didn't change his mind, replacing him with a sword-wielding troll. This is not a "cut-because-the-movie-was-too-long-but-still-kinda-canon" deleted scene, it's a completely changed one.

2016年9月28日 · Dwarven armor/weapons-grade Mithril was then not the natural form, just as grade 5 titanium is not pure (pure, unworked Ti being somewhat soft). The heavy "black steel" could just be a different alloy, made with no regard for keeping it lightweight.

Sauron without his Ring was still a very powerful being in Middle-earth (some or all of the White Council, which included the Elvish Ring bearers Elrond and Galadriel, a Wizard with a Ring in Gandalf, plus Saruman, Radagast and Cirdan, were needed to overthrow his servants directly in Dol Guldur with an expectation to face Sauron himself);

He also wears black armor and a helmet similar to Morgoth's in The Silmarillion, and wields a giant mace (perhaps based on Grond) capable of killing scores of men in one hit. So I guess Morgoth looks like a gigantic movie!Sauron with three Silmarils on his helmet's forehead.
