Stephen Magrath is a visual artist who balances his time between his studio in Bath, UK and his work in the community leading art projects and teaching. His drawings, paintings and prints are inspired by his interest in health and wellbeing and informed by related scientific research.

2014年3月3日 · Using art inspired by cutting edge research, the series begins with a free public exhibition The Art of the Brain, by Bath-based artist, Stephen Magrath. Stephen Magrath has been working with researchers at the University of Bath’s Department of Pharmacy & Pharmacology to create a “sci-art” exhibition.

Bath Mind ‘Safe space’ group expressed their artistic talents in this 5 metre long collaborative mural on the theme of ‘sub aqua’ by depicting a variety of sea creatures, Octonauts, treasure chests and of course a yellow submarine. Currently working with Bath Mind and St. Johns Foundation leading Mindful Art Sessions.

Mindful Art is a fusion of mindfulness practice and creating individual designs. Compasses, templates and stencils are provided to assist in drawing the design which can then be coloured in with crayons, paints and ink.

2021年11月20日 · An exhibition of four pictures on the theme of circles and abstract space by Bath artist Stephen Magrath, resonating with Luke Jerram’s ‘Museum of the Moon’ while it is at Bath Abbey. Visitors are invited to be still and contemplate the inner nature of life and God.

This painting describes the condition of Insomnia, one of over 80 recognised Sleep Disorders. The brain and mind of the insomniac here is shown filled with numerous ticking clocks and their inability to sleep caused by time-related anxiety.

This painting seeks to describe the experience of Insomnia, one of over 80 recognised Sleep Disorders. Here the insomniac's experience of closing their eyes is dominated by the fear of the dark closing in and overwhelming them.

Ink on paper painting of 3 neurones at different stages of brain development. Axons (branch-like projections) grow out from the cell body (spherical structure) to reach their target. Neurones are cells in the nervous system which carry information in the form of electrical signals and allow us to sense and respond to our environment.
