2020年5月11日 · I have not experienced Firebox's browser adding a webp to a file name on any other sites, so it seems to be something unique to a single site I was referring to. I just wondered originally if Firefox had an easy add-on that would automatically convert the webp files to jpeg, gif or mpeg, for example, so my computer would read them normally.

2019年2月2日 · I can't save some images as .PNG for some sites I use. (ex. any of the wikis on fandom.com) .WEBP images are completely useless to me - my version of Photoshop (CC 2018) can't even load them. It still saves as .WEBP even if the URL itself says it's a .PNG file.

2021年3月17日 · Firefox sends an Accept header with every request. That header includes various formats that Firefox accepts, including image/webp. That is a signal to web servers that if they prefer, they can send WebP-format images. Large server farms prefer that to reduce their bandwidth usage. Firefox was not always this way.

2020年5月11日 · if i want to convert it to webp i will click on a CONVERT TO WEBP image and not on save/download. alright, googles chrome downloads a png if i want to download a png. stop telling users what to download i dont click on save a png file to get a webp image to upload it somewhere again to convert it to png whats wrong with u.

Then webp will just not work anymore, and when you open a link to a webp, Firefox will probably suggest to open the file in a different browser. When I tried to download the demo image from the question post, Chrome downloaded it as webp anyways.
