Zu is dead easy to drive - 12ohms is actually easier than 8 ohms. So 4 watts will likely blow you out the door let alone having a 25+ watt amp which you will likely never get above 5.

2010年7月28日 · Tonepub is correct that you need the Zu speaker cables to get the most from these speakers. These really make a difference, and Zu also strongly recommends getting them for the Essence. This is why they had the speaker cables as part of their bundle with the Peachtree Nova as the RMAF show special.

2023年12月19日 · I have the newish DW6 speakers with the Superfly package. Never going back. They are just fabulous in my room with my tube setup. These are obviously compatible to the DXW Supremes. Any "controversy" goes in one ear and out the other. I am very happy with these Zu speakers, their cables and my D103r cartridge upgrade.

2015年5月2日 · To my knowledge the Zu Essence are the only speakers in the Zu line to offer grills. Those are no longer in production but I see them pop up used for sale quite a bit. With that said, I have two young boys and they keep away from my speakers. A flying toy or a good whack is more apt to lead to cabinet damage anyway, same as with any speaker.

2017年8月19日 · I've been a Zu guy for about 3+ years (all in my profile). Started with Superflys and a year later added Defheads in my bedroom. The Defheads are the better speaker, as they are the top half of Zu's flagship Definition speakers, minus the subwoofers.

2010年6月25日 · However, the Essence had more sparkle on the top end and went lower on the bottom. From what I hear, the new Zu Soul is similar to the Druid in presentation but has the deeper bass of the Essence. Build quality of the ZU's were good as is value for $. I think Zu makes a decent speaker but they may be a bit over-hyped at the moment.

2021年3月15日 · Plan on buying Zu Audio Dirty Weekends on 03/25. My budget for electronics is ~$800-1,000. Source will be Raspberry Pi streamer feed by Qobuz and local files. Current DAC is HiFiBerry hat on Pi streamer. Zu’s are efficient so I don’t need many watts, but may like tubes somewhere in the audio stream. Open to pre/power or integrated amps.
