The Antarctic minke whale or southern minke whale (Balaenoptera bonaerensis) is a species of minke whale within the suborder of baleen whales. It is the second smallest rorqual after the common minke whale and the third smallest baleen whale.

Bal­aenoptera bonaeren­sis oc­curs in polar to trop­i­cal wa­ters of the south­ern hemi­sphere. It oc­curs in large num­bers south of 60º S, through­out the Antarc­tic. The dis­tri­b­u­tion is more dif­fi­cult to as­sess north of the Antarc­tic be­cause of its co-oc­cur­rence with Bal­aenoptera acu­toros­trata.

2016年7月22日 · The Antarctic minke whale, Balaenoptera bonaerensis, is a Southern Hemisphere species of balaenopterid whale generally found south of 60°S in austral summer. In the Atlantic Ocean, they migrate north during austral winter as far as approximately 7°S.

As in other minke whales, the head is pointed, and there is a prominent median ridge. The dorsal fin, situated about two-thirds of the way back from the snout tip, is moderately tall and falcate. There are 50-70 short throat pleats, which extend just past the flippers and 200-300 pairs of baleen plates, most of which are black.
