Bernard Joseph Slaven (born 13 November 1960) is a former professional football striker. He scored 223 goals in 567 league and cup appearances throughout an 18-year career and also earned seven caps for the Republic of Ireland.

Born in Paisley 13th Nov 1960. I was introduced to football by my late father Hugh. He used to take me to Parkhead to watch Glasgow Celtic from the age of 7. My boyhood heroes were Bobby Murdoch, Jimmy Johnstone and Kenny Dalglish. Coming from a council estate my ambition was to become a footballer.
