Lighting Effect and Motion Capture Suit for Billy Crudup while performing the Dr. Manhattan character in the Zack Snyder film "Watchmen"

During filming, Crudup acted opposite his co-stars, wearing a white suit covered in blue LEDs, so he would give off an otherworldly glow in real life, just as the computer-generated Manhattan does in the movie.

Doctor Manhattan made his first live-action debut in the 2009 film Watchmen, played by Billy Crudup. He also appeared in the 2019 limited television series Watchmen, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, with his original form played by Darrell Snedeger.

2009年3月3日 · On set, Crudup wore a white suit designed by Chris Gilman of Global Effects that was covered with approximately 1000 blue LEDs and a handful of tracking markers. The soles of his shoes had blue LEDs baked into them so Crudup would emit light under his feet as he walked. He also wore a hat and gloves covered with LEDs.
