Plug an output into a chain of effects and then back into an Input - it will then try to apply this chain of effects infinitly. (Use distortion in the effects chain to make it harsher). It can be done all in software with no need for any hardware.

Jun 7, 2021 · I would invest in a few nasty sounding distortion/fuzz pedals if you haven't already, even running a vst synth through some harsh distortion should work pretty great for making harsh noise. I find the proco rat can be great for really harsh sounds with the filter all the way open, and stacking 2 or 3 gain pedals is also really good.
