It is NOT a joke for training "combat support" (i.e. small, heavily-armed infantry). Since the majority of an MP's time will be spent kicking doors and shooting crap, the majority of training is devoted to that. Last I checked a whopping 2 weeks of actual law enforcement (termed "Law and Order") training is given in the 31B AIT.

You will have to attend a police academy. As a former military police, I can greatly assure you that police academy training is way more intense than any military police training that I attended. The training will be more localized and will concentrate on specific agency tactics. I am speaking for California though.

2021年11月20日 · There's several uniformed federal agencies that do "real police work" such as the Park Police, Land Management, Indian Affairs, etc if that's what you're interested in, and you can make your way over to a nice plainclothes GS-12/13 job working 9-5 (more like 10-3 with a 2 hour paid lunch) when you're ready.

2012年9月1日 · The physical aspects of a law enforcement academy would be akin to advanced field training for special details in the military - Special Forces, Paratroopers, Seals, etc.....not quite as dynamic, but highly stringent and conditioning is a must in most academies. Basic military training is akin to high school football conditioning programs.
