The straight punch is a fundamental punch in wing chun. It's executed from the centerline where the fist travels along the shortest distance to the target. The punch is delivered vertically, using the power generated from the shifting of the hips, feet, and the coordinated movement of the arm, shoulder, and tucked elbows.
