Red Eyed Crocodile Skinks

Shy mini dragon. Offering one of my red-eyed crocodile skinks (Tribolonotus gracilis) a small hornworm caterpillar. As you can see she was having second thoughts and felt shy about taking the insect at the very last second. These unique little animals are quite shy and secretive in nature. Conditioning them to be comfortable tong feeding like this takes a great deal of patience and effort. One thing I love about my white-eyed crocodile skinks (Tribolonotus novaeguineae) is how bold their offspring are if we compare them to their red-eyed relatives. This terrarium houses 1 of 3 breeding pairs of white-eyed crocodile skinks I own, along with several offspring! As you can see, the little ones aren’t shy and recognize my hand/tongs as the food bearer 😅!
