The transforming power of heat ~ kiln firing before and after ...

The bottom element of this kiln was popped out a little bit from the element holder, so I heated the element up, and in places where the pitch was close, I put a screwdriver in and twisted it, so that that part of the element would be further away from itself. so basically, I was lengthening the element so that it would fit into the element holders a little better. Over time, elements shrink a little bit, so I think this is what has happened here. I mostly use this kiln only for bisque. . . . ww
